Saltwater women with Karen Smith

Sydney Aboriginal women are too often forgotten in the stories of Bennelong and other Sydney men of the late 1700s, early 1800s.

Karen Smith will bring the stories of women to the fore when she discusses Saltwater Women at Gordon Library.

See images of the tools they used, and listen as Karen examines the way these women have been seen in history.

Karen Smith is the Aboriginal Education Officer at the Aboriginal Heritage Office.
