Ten participants and invited to learn some basic weaving stitches with the fabulous Sheriden Bird who is one of the women in focus during the ‘Ochre Women’ exhibition. Sheriden was born on the banks of the Nepean River and is a descendant of the Wiradjuri people, Mudgee, Cudgegong River. Sheriden now lives in Gai-Mariagal Country and has bought up her family here for the past 40years.
Sheriden’s extensive background in avant-garde fashion design gives her art and woven artifacts a distinct individual flair.
