“Eve was never expelled, she chose to leave”.
The Hidden Garden exhibition is based on a short story written by Travis de Vries retelling the story of the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve through the lens of Indigenous storytelling. It invokes the idea of a fable, told from an elder of their tribe to a young man as a rite of passage. Through this 45-minute telling we learn the true story of the Garden of Eden, a tale of patriarchal propaganda and feminine strength. This telling will be accompanied by a recorded sound track also created by Travis de Vries.
